Root Canals

Root Canals

A root canal is a very effective way to save a tooth. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp is removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. The pulp or pulp chamber is the soft area within the center of the tooth. The tooth's nerve lies within root canals, which are within the roots or 'legs" of the tooth. A tooth's nerve is not vitally important to a tooth's health and function after the tooth has emerged through the gums. Dr. Blass and his staff understand that your comfort is important and take every measure to make sure that your root canal treatment is as pleasant and pain free as possible. The use of nitrous oxide, a soothing gas, allows apprehensive patients to relax and experience a pleasant, euphoric state during the procedure.
